This was such a heavily anticipated book and I was one of the lucky people who went to a midnight release party and bagged my copy before most people, the party was actually really fun, there were games, sweets and things to keep everyone entertained while we all waited for the 8th instalment of our favourite series.
As soon as I got home I started reading it and although I had to give in to sleep half way through, I woke up early the next morning and finished it, I have got to say some of the plot points were very unexpected (I will try not to include spoilers for those of you who haven't read it yet)
Obviously it was different from the other books because of the way that it's written, it's a screenplay so it's very different to how we're used to reading about Harry and Co., some people have said that they would be put off by the fact that it's set out differently but it didn't bother me, in fact I spent some time imagining what all of these wonderful things would actually look like to a member of the audience sat there watching the play (something I don't think I'll be able to do for a very long time - if at all)
I enjoyed finding out more about Harry's children and Ron and Hermione's kids too, it was also nice to see what their life was like all these years later and it was nice to be reunited with some other characters as well (if you've read it you'll know who I'm referring to)
I liked all of the more extreme plot points because although some people have criticised this I think it just adds an element of fanfiction to the whole thing and it left me shell-shocked for a few days once it had dawned on me, I think these things just added more drama and intrigue to the play and some people might see it as unnecessary but I think it was a great addition!
Overall I really really loved the whole thing and it was great to be back in Harry's world even if it wasn't quite what we were all expecting! I know JK has said that Harry is done now but does that mean that we could have a marauder's story!? who knows...I cant wait to see what comes next!
